‘Unacceptable views’ – yet more evidence of Christians being silenced

Christian pastor Revd George Hargreaves will this month go before the Central Employment Tribunal in London, to defend his right as a Christian to explain the teachings of the Bible on homosexuality, in response to a direct question put to him in the workplace.  He has written to VfJUK asking for support.

The problems started some time ago when a colleague at work asked Revd Hargreaves if lesbianism was spoken about in the Bible.  He replied that it was, citing Romans 1.  The answer, however, failed to satisfy the colleague, who responded by saying that gay people were born that way.  Usually these days, of course, this is the trump card that settles all argument – but Revd Hargreaves disagreed.  He pointed out that paedophiles claimed that too, but that the Lord could heal and even reverse conditions with which we are born.

It was at this point that there started what George Hargreaves describes as a workplace ‘hate campaign’ – initiated by the colleague, who branded him homophobic and a bigot.   To counter this, George raised a Grievance Claim, met immediately with a counter claim by the colleague.  Both claims were dismissed, but Revd Hargreaves then received an official reprimand, in writing, for inappropriate language and behaviour.  A Subject Access Request then revealed that, prior to the contretemps, an ‘evidence’ gathering process had already been initiated against him, to investigate the claim that he was a notorious homophobe unsuitable, because of his religious belief, for employment in the organisation.   Perhaps unsurprisingly, at this point Stonewall became involved, and his Christian activist and political activities were cited as yet further evidence of his unsuitability.

The Hearing is set to run from the 25th – 28^th February, at the London Central Employment Tribunal, Victory House, 30-34 Kingsway, London, WC2B 6EX.  Sessions start daily at 10 am, and Revd Hargreaves is asking for Christians to go along and support him from the public gallery.

Yet again, this is an attempt by LGBT activists to criminalise and silence Christians who dare stand up for their belief.   It is an overt attempt to suppress the Bible where it clashes with the new Weltanschauung.

This year sees the 400^th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower, when Puritans, being imprisoned and even killed for their faith, fled to the new world to escape persecution.  We are today seeing a resurgence of the same vicious, totalitarian spirit that will not allow dissent – and that in the 17th century led eventually to civil war.  But it is worse now, because increasingly we are seeing the demonic force driving this agenda coming out into the open.  Let us make no mistake, the aim of these attacks is to drive Christianity out of the public arena and destroy society as we know it.  But it seems that the ultimate aim may be even more radical – to destroy the human race.

To take one example, in a recent book by militant feminist and celebrant of Queer theory Patricia MacCormack, Professor of Continental Philosophy in English and Media at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge and a self-avowed occultist magician who advocates invoking demons, it is reported that she has called for the extinction of the human race in order to save the planet (https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/feminist-prof-who-practices-occult-calls-for-human-extinction-to-save-planet?utm_source=LifeSiteNews.com&utm_campaign=2c64110790-ProLife_2_11_2020&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_12387f0e3e-2c64110790-401800141 ).

To most, this will doubtless sound completely barmy, but it is surely evidence of the growing influence of witchcraft and the occult, and the underlying drive to destroy life.  Years ago, such views would have provoked outrage and condemnation – but these days they pass without murmur. In such a climate, LGBT rebranding of moral values almost pales in comparison, but it is part of the same societal move.

VfJUK has no doubt that the vast majority of Secular and LBGT activists have not the slightest idea what it is they so vehemently support, but the truth is that we are under spiritual attack.   The ancient enemy of man and lord of chaos is once again challenging God.  It is vital Christians wake up and understand what is at stake.  It is vital that the Church wakes up!
