Choose this day whom you will serve

At this time of transition between the old and new years, it is customary to review the highs and lows of the past twelve months – so let us follow suit and take a quick overview of our nation’s achievements in 2024.

In all honesty, it makes depressing reading: increasing violence and knife crime on our streets; horrific sexual exploitation and abuse of children, not least by organised grooming gangs; inflation and generalised business collapse; looming threat of recession and unemployment; sky rocketing energy prices; an NHS in terminal decline; catastrophically falling birth rate, with replacement fertility levels insufficient to sustain the present population; record levels of illegal immigration radically destabilising society; systemically orchestrated cultural overthrow; the deliberate undermining of Christianity by cultural relativism…. The list goes on and on, and none of it seems good.  It is in fact evidence, if evidence were needed, that our nation is teetering on the edge of an abyss.

Surely, you might think, things are so bad, they can only get better!  Such a thought would be comforting, but on our current trajectory there seems little prospect of improvement.  On the contrary, all the signs are that the chaos will deepen.

For example, in the ‘dead period’ for news between Christmas and New Year, it was briefly reported in The Telegraph that Labour plans a major shake-up of the national curriculum. I say ‘briefly’, because the article was live for just a few hours, before all mention was quietly removed. The link, however, is here and it makes shocking reading.

Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson is apparently planning a major overhaul of education to make it more ‘diverse’.  Amidst a raft of proposals, she reportedly wants to ‘decolonise’ subjects which have been branded too ‘mono-cultural’, as a part of which English literature – definitely seen as too traditional – is to be revamped to get rid of the stranglehold of ‘dead white men’, replacing them with more diverse authors reflective of multi-cultural Britain.  She wishes apparently to entrench anti-racist and decolonised approaches that will serve to subvert what are labelled ‘racial biases’.  Perhaps unsurprisingly, what are labelled ‘majority white classrooms’ are especially singled out for attention as needing re-education, in order to remove white patriarchal preferences.  At the same time, as part of the drive to promote inclusivity, there are also reportedly now plans to include Arabic language teaching and Islamic study in the national curriculum.

Once the ‘evidence’ has been assessed, an interim report is promised in early 2025, followed, later in the year, by a full set of recommendations to curriculum changes.

Let’s not be fooled.  Although dressed up in the language of inclusivity and diversity, such an approach is overtly hostile to British identity and the values on which our nation is founded.  Indeed, it is hard to see this as anything other than a deliberate attack on British society, driven by an ideological agenda that wants to overthrow our traditional values and beliefs.  And in pursuit of this aim – yet again – it is the nation’s young that are being targeted, with the message drummed into them that Britain is a bastion of evil white supremacy that must be dismantled and destroyed, in order for the exploited to cast off the yoke of oppression and take their rightful place as ‘rulers’ in this brave new world.

This is not a policy of inclusivity.  Rather, it is designed to promote a particular agenda and reinforce divisiveness.  It is manifestation of the age-old spiritual battle between good and evil; between God and the devil.   It is the attempted covert enforcement of regime change – a ‘bloodless’ coup perhaps, but a coup nonetheless, that is hostile to Christianity and seeks to reject in entirety the Christian values on which our nation is founded, and which up to now have made us strong.

And that is the nub of the problem now facing us, because over the course of the last century our nation has increasingly been encouraged to reject God, in preference for a new religion dedicated to the great god, Self.  ‘I’ can have whatever I want, whenever I want, the mantra goes.  ‘My truth’ is all that matters.  Amazingly, it’s been a view not just supported, but even promoted, by the leadership of all Christian denominations in the UK.  So, for example, sex outside marriage is now okay, provided it’s consensual; abortion is understandable, where a woman’s life might be negatively impacted; same-sex marriage is fine, because, as we all know, love is all that matters … In an effort to stay culturally relevant, the Church has traded truth and eternal salvation for personal gratification in the here and now.

But the trouble is, that isn’t how God views things.  The rules set down in the Bible aren’t there because He’s a vicious kill-joy, who doesn’t want men and women to have fun, but because they are the rules that govern our creation and existence and, where followed, enable us to find fulfilment and genuine happiness.  The growing chaos evident in the world today isn’t God’s fault, but is a direct result of our futile attempts to seize control and do what we want.  That’s actually what the Bible calls rebellion and, because of that, God has withdrawn His protection and given us up to the consequences of our ill-advised choice.  The Government’s attempts to embed its preferred ideology, manifested in Ms Phillipson’s determination to reframe the national curriculum, can only make things infinitely worse, and the chaos, corruption, perversion, and general alienation afflicting society will intensify.

The reality is then that we are faced with a choice; and the fate of the nation literally hangs on what we now choose.  Continue our worship of Self – aka Satan – and plunge deeper into chaos.  Or repent our exultation of evil and turn back to God, once more following the moral precepts of the Bible and taking that responsibility for others to which we are enjoined.

With the increasing threat of war and financial collapse, there are undeniably difficult times ahead – and maybe we really are facing the ‘end time’.  But God’s will remains to save, and even now He can lead us out of this mess.  But He won’t help while we continue in rebellion.  The question is, therefore, what will we choose?  To embrace and once again follow the values on which our nation is built – celebrating equally the God-given right to freedom and respect for all?  Taking responsibility for the wellbeing of those less privileged than ourselves and seeking after righteousness?   Will we once again give our allegiance to God?  Or will we continue down the path of lawlessness and totalitarianism, that seeks to tear down and destroy the achievements of those who have gone before, replacing order with chaos?

In memory
It is with very great sadness that we announce that one of VfJUK’s Patrons, Monica Hill, died unexpectedly on Christmas Eve.

Monica was a truly remarkable woman of God.  Together with her husband Clifford, she worked tirelessly throughout her adult life for the glory of the Kingdom, devoting her energies in particular to education and community development.  Together, she and Clifford made a formidable team, always supporting each other – but, though they worked together to uphold Christian values in Parliament and the many Christian organisations they both founded and supported, Monica always had her own distinctive and quietly powerful ministry.  A prolific writer, she became a founding member and first Director of the British Church Growth Association, serving in that role for 23 years.  After that, again with Clifford, she founded Issachar Ministries, and Prophecy Today – to promote Biblical understanding and bring the unchanging Word of God to a sadly changing world.

Monica’s was a life well lived.  She and Clifford were together for 68 years, a constant support and encouragement to each other, and our prayers and love are with Clifford and his family at this very difficult time.  She will be missed by us all, but as one of the Lords and Commons Family and Child Protection Group said, on hearing the news, ‘She … made it to heaven just in time for Jesus’ birthday!’

There will, without doubt, be rejoicing in heaven.  Rest in peace, Monica, till we all meet again.

We need your help to continue
the fight!

The twentieth century saw two world wars waged to defend freedom and liberate the oppressed. Now, almost unbelievably, we are once again faced by another deadly enemy – an enemy whose goal is to destroy all we have held dear, and the values on which modern society is based: values of faith and morality, of freedom of speech without threat or fear of intimidation… the freedom to manifest belief.

Voice for Justice UK was formed to defend the ancient freedoms on which our society is founded, and to reclaim and recover lost ground. We believe our call is to proclaim the Faith; to defend the disadvantaged, abused, and marginalised; to uphold the sanctity of life; and to speak out for all who face exploitation and/or oppression from the imposition of an increasingly totalitarian and secular worldview.

All this, however, is costly, and we are a relatively small organisation, with limited funds.

Please, can you help us continue the fight?

A one-off donation would be wonderful, but even better would be a regular commitment, so that we can better plan our work.
