Hot on the heels of the announcement of Sir Hamid Patel as interim chairman of Ofsted, comes news that, in the interests of inclusivity, Norwood Primary School in Eastleigh, Hampshire, is this year cancelling its popular Easter Bonnet Parade and Easter service.
Never let it be said that the South of England is lagging behind when it comes to keeping ahead of the curve. In an unexpected letter to parents and carers, head teacher Stephanie Mander explained that the cancellation was out of respect for the ‘diverse religious beliefs represented within the school’. But, lest you feel some concern at this apparently high-handed abandonment of important celebrations in the life of the school community, please be reassured – celebrations of EID and Diwali are both scheduled to continue, and will include assemblies and learning activities with the children, so that they can learn the wider range of beliefs now widespread in multicultural Britain. Ms Mander has also reassured parents that the school with be celebrating Refugee Week in June. In fact, it seems that everything will continue to be included and celebrated … except Christianity – which, by the by, is still the established faith of our country.
Ms Mander says she wishes to create ‘a more inclusive atmosphere’. But it is hard to see how this will be achieved when Christianity is being so pointedly excluded. In fact, it would seem that, yet again, genuine tolerance and respect for all is being sacrificed on the altar of ideology, that wants to reconfigure British society and annihilate its centuries old traditions and practices (which of course includes Christianity).
We have news for Ms Mander. Easter is the most important festival in the Christian year, commemorating, as it does, Christ’s death on the Cross and resurrection. It is not just about fluffy bunnies and Easter hats – Easter matters! Jettisoning its celebration in so cavalier a fashion is an affront to the nation’s heritage and our Christian faith.
It is against this background that Ofsted have appointed as their interim Chair a devout Muslim, openly committed to promoting compliance with Islam and supportive of anti-Jewish bombast. We do well to remember that Muslims believe all other religions are fabricated and false, and that it is their religious duty not to respect, but to convert non-believers. A goal that they are even now energetically pursuing in the UK, with Britain reportedly seen as the ‘western capital’ for sharia law courts.
It is time for this madness to end. The deliberate – and what appears to be ‘orchestrated’ – marginalisation of traditional British values, identity and heritage will not, and never can, promote ‘diversity’. And indeed, one suspects that the opposite is actually the goal. If we now stand quietly by and allow this to happen, without protest, then we are complicit in allowing the takeover and destruction of British culture – and in allowing Christianity to be driven from our shores.
VfJUK would remind supporters that for over 1,300 years Britain has been, and still nominally remains, an avowedly Christian country. The values underpinning the whole of our society and culture are rooted in the Bible. They are what, in the past, have made our nation ‘Great’, and they are worth fighting for. Children are the future – and they too are worth fighting for. Their education must be kept free of ideological indoctrination, be that in relation to sex education and gender ideology, or in the prioritisation of religions hostile to Christian belief.
It is entirely inappropriate that the individual charged with oversight of the English educational system should now be Muslim. For the protection of our children, our culture, our laws and national identity, please help us challenge the appointment of Sir Hamid Patel as interim Chair of Ofsted.

As well as encouraging the practice of Sharia law, Muslims want to convert the UK.
Advertisments promoting Islam are currently being featured across London,
as well as being posted on the underground and on the sides of buses.
