Exploiters and deviants – the stables must be cleansed

With Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Peter Mandelson now both on bail, facing charges of misconduct in public office, there seems no end in sight to the almost daily allegations of corruption and wrongdoing on the part of the great, but clearly, it seems, not so good.  Where will it all end?  Who else will be revealed to have been involved in sexual scandal and seedy dealing?  What tales will maybe yet come to light of carnal deviance, sexual exploitation, abuse, and general misbehaviour?

‘Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.’ So warned Lord Acton in 1887 in a letter to fellow historian Bishop Mandell Creighton, continuing, ‘Great men are almost always bad men …’.  This is perhaps an overly jaundiced view, but in these days when politicians seem increasingly to be motivated by a desire for power, rather than service, doing all they can to obtain and cling to office, it is a warning we would do well to heed.  As it is, fresh scandals – whether they be sexual, fraudulent, coercive bullying or whatever – seem almost daily to come to light.

Perhaps such an outcome is inevitable when political parties refuse to ‘do God’, and our sovereign proudly proclaims that he champions interfaith dialogue, protects religious diversity, and supports the free practice of all faiths in the UK.  We are a Christian nation, yet those in power reject God and His Son, Jesus Christ, embracing instead lesser gods of diversity, multi-culturalism, and death.  Small wonder we have become a culture so devoid of morality.  Yet despite the hubris of those in power, who think that whatever they do doesn’t matter – God sees.  And, by this wilful rejection of principle by our leaders, we have brought the nation under judgement.  The filth and sleaze that underpins public life, and that has been hidden for so long, is being forced into the open, and it will not stop until all is revealed.  And that includes those with super Injunctions – Beware, despite all your efforts, the truth will out!

Let us make no mistake.  At heart, this is a spiritual battle between good and evil, God and the devil.  By the nation’s defiant rejection of God, we choose the other side, with the inevitable result that spirits of impurity, corruption and violence have flooded in and established strongholds promoting evil.  In release of the Epstein files, for instance, we see embedded a paedophile spirit, intent on destroying innocence and undermining the social order … of destroying our values and all we hold dear.

The truth is, we have reached such a point that, at a human level, whatever measures are taken to expose and combat the evil that has taken root will fail.  Indeed, as promiscuity, paedophilia and the like become normalised, by familiarity, others – to whom such behaviours up to now will never have occurred – will be drawn into the web.  Where this kind of spirit has become entrenched, it can be expelled only by prayer and fasting ( see Matthew 17:21). And only then will those caught by darkness be enabled to repent.

Call to Prayer

VfJUK asks if you will join us to pray against the malign spirit currently undermining society – that all that is hidden may be brought into the light and exposed; and that goodness, righteousness, obedience and purity prevail.  Join us to pray in goodness and light, and to pray a shield of protection over our land.

We are setting aside
Wednesday, 18th March as a Day of Prayer.

Please let us know if you will stand with us, and we’ll send out more detailed guidance closer to the time.
