God is on the move – a warning to the Godless

A landslide victory for Donald Trump, followed by the shock resignation of the Archbishop of Canterbury … whatever next?  But perhaps the real question we should be asking ourselves is, why?  Why is the world in such chaos, and why do these extraordinary events keep happening?

Forget for a moment safeguarding – important though that is – and look at the wider picture.

It will doubtless be remembered that only a few days ago the Archbishop of Canterbury boldly announced that he regarded all sex as permissible, provided only it took place within a stable, albeit temporary, relationship, and whether heterosexual or gay made not a scrap of difference.   Prior to that, in his pursuit of cultural relevance, he has supported the imposition of trans-ideology on Church of England schools, and consistently used his office to promote questionable left-wing policies that have little or nothing to do with the Bible.  He has, for example, recently announced  (a) that God is green, and (b) that He (or She) is ‘not White’.  All of which no doubt win him brownie points with the Woke, but which ignore, at base, the teachings of the Bible.

The truth is, Archbishop Welby has failed to uphold that righteousness commanded by God, in and through the Bible, and, as result, has failed to provide proper leadership for the global Anglican Church.   Of course, we must guard against the wicked abuse and exploitation of children, but that can spring only from a wider obedience to God, and commitment to moral purity.  This, Justin Welby and his fellow leaders of the Anglican Church have consistently failed to provide.

Could it perhaps be, therefore – whisper who dare – that God’s patience has at last run out, and that He is even now moving to purify and reclaim His church?

Following Justin Welby’s resignation, the hunt is on for a replacement.  Various names have already been mentioned and doubtless, over the coming days, others will come to the fore.  But let us recognise the truth.  The Anglican Church, as currently constituted, is not God’s Church and it is in terminal decline. The true Church can never die – and indeed, even now, is flourishing – but this mealy-mouthed excuse for a cultural ecclesia, dedicated to promotion of the woke, is rightly tottering towards oblivion.  God will not bless the apostate.  The only solution for the mess we are in is for people to turn back to Him, crying out in repentance, and begging for deliverance.

The Prime Minister’s plans to save humanity by an 81% cut in carbon emissions by 2035 will not, and cannot, help – even if achievable.  The demolition of the traditional family by normalising sexual licence and behaviours explicitly prohibited in the Bible … won’t help.  Nothing can help.  Except for God.  If the Church of England is to have any hope of salvation, it is imperative it now recognises this, and seeks to appoint a leader who, come hell or highwater, will seek after righteousness and follow, without deviation or compromise, the commands of God.
