How far can we trust those in authority to protect us?
Recent convert to Christianity Tommy Robinson, hated by the left for his undoubted impact on British nationals who feel they have been betrayed by self-seeking and treacherous policymakers, has apparently had to leave the country, after being informed by Bedfordshire police, via telephone, that there was a credible threat against his life from Islamist terrorists. An unidentified police officer told Robinson that an article in a proscribed Islamic State magazine was urging followers in the UK to commit acts of violence against him. He was told he needed to be on his guard, but no protection was offered and he was informed he was not allowed to carry any kind of weapon or take pre-emptive action to defend himself, if and when attacked.
Kind of them to tell him, you might think, but VfJUK is left puzzled. Why are the police and security services not taking appropriate 24-hour action to protect an ethnic white, British citizen being threatened by Islamists, hostile to our values and way of life? And no, a phone call saying, ‘Hey, guess what, ISIS are plotting to kill you, but you mustn’t respond!” is not appropriate action. Would they be taking this line if a woke activist or Labour MP were under threat? And why has there not been mass outcry in the national press? As it is, coverage has been distinctly muted, and what coverage there has been appears to have focused on Robinson’s, to many, unacceptable activities as a far-right activist – as if this somehow justifies the current threats. Oh, and by the way, he deserves all he gets!
Such a response would appear to confirm recent allegations of systemic bias in favour of Muslims, and it is not good enough. Whatever you may feel about Tommy Robinson, if he is threatened by Islamic terrorists, with their known penchant for violent attack and murder, he should receive protection, and those involved should be exposed and made subject to legal penalty. Indeed, for their failure to observe, and demonstrated contempt for, British law, they should be deported.
Our country must once again stand up for justice, Christian values, and the rule of law, and we should actively protect our citizens whenever and wherever they come under threat.
