Seek after holiness – and save the UK

The UK faces difficult and challenging times, and in all probability there is far worse to come.  The threat of war, both external and internal, grows, our economy is on the point of collapse, anti-Semitism is on the rise, and our government seems a complete shambles, incapable of doing anything constructive to sort out the mess and keep the country safe.

Let us make no mistake, we have brought this chaos on ourselves.  Because of our rejection of God, our rebellion against the laws that underpin creation, and our depraved worship of self, the Lord has withdrawn His hand of protection, and now we are facing the consequences of our wrong choices.   In the age-old battle between good and evil, we have welcomed into our midst powers that are hostile to Christ and that seek, even now, to overturn His rule.  We have worshipped the lord of anarchy and chaos.

People say, how have we ‘sinned’?

  1.  In direct contravention of the first commandment, ‘You shall have no other gods before me’ (Exodus 20:3), we have not just allowed other religions to take root in our land, but in the name of multi-faith initiatives, have welcomed worship of those religions in places consecrated to Christ.  We have said, we all worship the same god, so what’s it matter?  We’re just being tolerant and inclusive … ‘loving’.  But by this we have betrayed the Sovereign Lord of our land and been apostate.
  2. Since the passing of the Abortion Act in 1967, we have taken the lives of almost 11 million babies, 98% of which have been for purely social reasons.  100% of those babies were known and loved by God, and He had a purpose for every one of their lives.  Every baby, both the born and unborn, is special.  Every baby deserves to be loved.  But we have made the womb a dangerous place, treating the unborn as disposable commodities, to be allowed to live or not, according to our will.
  3. We have made a god of promiscuity, saying it’s a human right to have sex whenever, wherever, and with whomsoever we choose.   We have taught our children that, primarily, we are all ‘sexual beings’ and that they have that same right as soon as they feel ‘ready’.
  4. We have taught them to ‘experiment’ and have fun, with no regard to their safety, wellbeing, or health.  We have taught them that babies conceived by their random acts are disposable by-products, and that they don’t have to have that child, if they don’t want.
  5. In direct contravention of both biology and the Bible, we have promoted the lie that sex is a social construct, and that people can choose for themselves what gender they want to be. And thereby we have scarred and maimed countless numbers of young lives, when they should rather have simply been loved and supported through their unhappiness and confusion.
  6. We have said that such things as lifelong, or even temporary, fidelity and commitment are also outdated social constructs, and are no longer relevant to the modern age.  All that matters is, ‘my truth, and my will’.
  7. We have said that we are gods and that we can control all of life by science.  We have sought to re-create creation.

All unknowing, by these and other such choices, we have been worshipping Satan – the lord of chaos and death, who hates God, and seeks to destroy His handiwork.  It is as true now, as it was back in Eden, that evil and goodness cannot co-exist.  The truth is that we have come so far down the path of evil that God will not now intervene to save us, unless we repent and turn back to Him.

But our God is sovereign.  He is a God of power, against whom nothing and no one can stand – and before whom the demons flee in terror.   That ancient power remains, and even now, at this late date when all seems lost, God can intervene and deliver us.  He wants to deliver us.  But for that to happen, we have to turn back to Him in obedience, and seek after holiness.

The choice is ours.  Choose the path of righteousness, and live … or choose the illusion of freedom and control, and die.
