The Gathering Storm
The storm draws near and it is time to choose. The threat of war grows, both globally and internally on our streets and there are, without doubt, difficult times ahead. It is no exaggeration to say that the survival of the UK, as we know it, hangs by a thread. Christianity first arrived on our shores, as a tiny seed, in around 42 AD, brought here by Roman traders. Against all the odds it took root so that, by around the 7th century, we were, to all intents and purposes, a Christian country. Down the centuries our laws, society and culture have all alike been founded on the Bible and, while we have kept faith, God has protected and delivered us from all attack.
Despite all attempts to deny, rewrite, and destroy our heritage, we remain at heart a Christian country, and God’s will remains both to save and to use us.
But He will do so only if we repent.
Over the course of the last seventy or so years, the UK has allowed every kind of perversion and corruption to take root in our country. Rejecting God, we have exalted sexual licence and promiscuity, slaughtering our unborn on the bogus altar of ‘choice’ and even attempting, in our hubris, to redefine and recreate creation. At the same time, we have welcomed to our shores a flood of illegal migrants, regardless of their hostility to our values and culture – in the name of multi-culturalism, even helping them establish and promote religions overtly hostile to Christ.
In all of this we have sinned and, as result, God has withdrawn His protection. While we continue down this path, nothing we do will prosper. Yet God has not abandoned us. Rather, He is calling us to repent and, if and when we respond, we can trust that He will deliver us.
Britain, awake! Throw off the shackles of deception and sin, and turn back to Christ. Now. Before it is too late.
The rot has gone deep, and it can be removed only with radical surgery – but removed it must be, if we are to face and triumph over the challenges that lie ahead. Like it or not, we are now in a battle for the soul of this nation, and our foe is the enemy of God. Only God can save us from this threat. For around two thousand years, Britain has been a jewel in the Lord’s hand. Time and again, He has delivered us against all odds – and He will do so again.
But only if and when we repent!
