What is behind the catastrophic rise in STI rates?

Recent figures from the UK’s Health Security Agency reveal a skyrocketing increase in STIs: the highest for gonorrhoea since records began in 1918, and the highest for syphilis since 1948. Is this merely a symptom of what the author describes as ‘post-pandemic jubilation’? A better explanation, Lynda Rose argues for, is the “ideologically driven sex education programme now being mandated in schools.”
