This week news has broken that Axel Rudakubana, accused of killing three girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport last July and now awaiting trial, has been charged with two additional but separate terror offences. First, of being in possession of an Al Qaeda training manual entitled, “Military Studies in the Jihad Against the Tyrants: The Al-Qaeda Training Manual”; and, second, of having the deadly biological toxin, Ricin.
The facts underlying the charges now being brought would, in all probability, have been known to Merseyside police within hours of Rudakubana’s arrest, because both the training manual and ‘an unknown substance’ would have been discovered when the house where he was living was searched. And the Prime Minister would have been informed immediately, so he too would have been aware of the threat being posed. In light of which, demands by Tory leadership candidates Robert Jenrick and Kemi Badenoch for an explanation as to why these facts have up to now been withheld from the public, seem entirely reasonable. Because whatever is now being maintained, it would seem beyond doubt that highly relevant facts were suppressed, and there needs to be both an explanation and justification for this.
The response by the government, however, has been to call the opposition leaders “despicable”, accusing them of peddling conspiracy theories and undermining trust in the police.
This is not good enough, and both Keir Starmer and Merseyside police must now be held to account. Labour obfuscation that the terror charges are entirely separate from the charges of murder and therefore not ‘relevant’ would seem to be a deliberate, further attempt to minimise and cover over what they see as inconvenient information. To put it bluntly, it would seem that from Day 1 we, the public, have been ‘managed’.
For example, much was made in the press at the time of the stabbings that Rudakubana came from Cardiff and that his parents were Rwandan Christian . But reports of his self-proclaimed ‘conversion’ to Islam on social media were actively played down, and then removed. Instead, it was stated that claims Rudakubana was Muslim and an asylum seeker were ‘far right’ misinformation, being peddled in order to ferment racial unrest. Protestors who then took to the streets, demanding full transparency and justice, were equally labelled ‘far right’ – the arch insult and excuse-all in today’s climate of liberal elitism. In the riots that followed – provoked by whom, one asks – some 800 were arrested, and many are now serving time in our over-crowded jails. All the opprobrium, in fact, seemed reserved for those labelled far right ‘rioters’, while the crime that provoked the disturbances quietly slipped into the background, portrayed as the aberrant act of a disturbed youngster, who clearly wasn’t responsible for his actions.
Back to the terror charges – we, the public, are now being told that, for an incident to be declared terrorist related, it must include the threat of serious violence, intimidate the public, and be done with the intention of promoting a political, religious, racial or ideological cause. Days before going on his killing spree, Rudakubana reportedly posted on social media his allegiance to Islam. These posts have now been removed, but they would surely have provided evidence of commitment to a religious or ideological cause, and therefore could justifiably be seen as bringing his actions within the definition of terror.
This therefore begs the question: what are we, the public, still not being told?
Such apparently deliberate obfuscation on the part of government and the police is not acceptable, and serves only to reinforce the suspicion that we are being manipulated for political gain. In these days it is beyond question that our country is under attack, both from within and without. It is the function and charge of government to protect, honestly and without fear, the best interests of the people it has been elected to serve. To have any hope of fulfilling this mandate, it is imperative that the full facts of this case be disclosed and clarified, so that we know the extent of the problem and how best to deal with it. Most especially, those genuinely of malign intent need to be identified, so that proportionate measures can be taken to deal with any danger posed.

Involuntary euthanasia is already happening in UK hospitals. If assisted suicide becomes legal, in cash-strapped Britain no one will be safe!
