Your Country Needs You – Call to Fast and Pray
A few days ago, VfJUK learnt of a Christian media channel here in the UK that had had all of its video clips and materials removed by YouTube. The channel has always prided itself on producing Bible-honouring interviews and programmes, but the reason given by YouTube was that they were acting, “to protect our community”. Perhaps understandably, the company wishes to remain anonymous, fearing that, should they protest publicly, further action will be taken that might result in their closure.
The UK is in crisis. For the first time in our history, law is being used as a weapon to suppress truth – not just religious truth, but biological, cultural and historical truth. The truth, in fact, of what it means to be a man or a woman, made in God’s image, and all alike worthy of respect.
The real ‘truth’ is that we have fallen victim to those seeking to destroy the foundations of our society and impose totalitarian control. Increasingly, you will obey has become a mantra, an iron-headed hammer pulverising our historic freedoms: of belief, of conscience, and of free speech.
The result is that daily we plunge ever deeper into chaos – as we reap the harvest of this unholy crop. Everyone knows that there is something deeply wrong, and that if we carry on as we are, we shall destroy ourselves. But this, at heart, is a spiritual battle, and there are no ‘human’ answers or remedies. We are in a hand-to-hand combat with evil, and the only thing that can save us – literally – is for the nation as a whole to renounce this oppressive, totalitarian insanity, and turn back to God, begging Him to help.
Amazingly, though we have sinned and deserve judgement, God’s will remains to save. God still reaches out to us in love, seeking the lost ahead of the judgement now looming on the horizon. But He will not – cannot – bless sin. Though God has blessed and preserved our nation down the centuries, delivering us over and again from what seemed at the time like almost certain annihilation, the truth is that He will not now help, unless we first renounce our wickedness and repent, and turn back to Him. If we will only do that, the Lord Himself will go before us and fight for us … and we shall see miracles beyond all our imagining.
We are a nation caught in darkness that daily grows stronger, fed by our evil choices and aberrant behaviour. No government policy by itself can help. Only God. It is therefore urgent that the Church recovers its vision and its voice, and becomes once again a beacon to the suffering and lost. A moral compass by which we, as a nation, can chart our course towards safe harbour.
It is all too likely that we shall soon see ourselves at war – both internally, as we are forced, for our survival, to battle those seeking to take over our land, and externally, as war in Europe and the Middle East grows and increasingly threatens our shores. But our God is a God who hears, and if we will only humble ourselves and repent, He Himself will fight for, and deliver, us … and give us victory.
We are still a Christian nation. Our laws, culture, and society are all alike founded on Christ, and He remains our Sovereign Lord. God has a plan for our redemption – a plan for good and not for harm. But we are on a knife edge, and for that plan to be revealed, and for the leader God Himself has chosen to be brought forth, it is urgent that we repent.
Please join us to pray light and truth into this nation, that we may open a door through which those caught in darkness can even now catch a glimpse of the real truth, and turn from their wicked ways and repent. And be healed.
